A great place to hang out. They’ve got a delicious selection of chocolate truffles and other sweet treats. I go there to get gifts for clients, but I always bring back something for the family as well. You should definitely check them out.
Steven the cashier at this specialty coffee cacao spot was warm and kind. That’s first! Thank you, Steven. That’s always number one when checking out any spot IMO.Second is the cleanliness of bathrooms: Black Mountain Chocolate ? in Winston Salem near the Wake Forest School of Medicine gets an A+.It’s Clean, Clean, Clean!!Now let’s move onto the good stuff—As soon as you walk in you will see that they freshly roast their coffee and cacao every day, if not every few days.As a coffee supplier, and specialty coffee entrepreneur, that is what I love to see!! Take this Colombian’s money and show me how you “coffee”.The fresh drinks, ambiance and sweet treats were fantastic and fresh! They also have a full alcohol ? bar filled with spirits of all kinds. Not to mention the spirit of everyone there having a great time. The drip of the day was superb. Perfectly roasted. This is coming from someone who has cuppings in their home often and moved from Seattle with my coffee company. So again, ??!!All and all, you have got a laid back place where you can have deep or light conversations about anything in the world. There’s seating outside and inside. It was cold so we sat inside. This is in an area that is almost hidden to outside view yet also available. It has that hole in the wall feel because it’s under the architectural structure of the building it’s in. I love it! It made me even more drawn to finding it. Have no fears though— although tucked away it’s like that creating a ? ambiance to add to its humble yet beautiful style.Bring a book, a date, or go alone and contemplate taking on the world. Whatever your cup of tea is, they probably have it at Black Mountain Coffee!
We had a fantastic time at the gin cocktail lab, experimenting with various brands and styles. The chocolate cocktail was particularly outstanding, and the bartenders were consistently excellent.
I pre-ordered some Valentine's day truffles and WOW! Black Mountain Chocolate outdid themselves. So many different flavors, including a classic salted caramel and hazelnut, as well as more unique flavors like lavender and Texas Pete. The truffles were delicious and the attention to detail in the packaging was lovely. Impressed by the inside eating area when I picked up the truffles--I will definitely have to return to try out their drinking chocolate or other decadent desserts! Great to see the staff wearing masks!
