Kasturi Indian Cuisine - Winston-Salem

I visited this restaurant for lunch and was surprised that there was no lunch menu available. Despite having to pay dinner prices, I ordered a meal. The portion I received was incredibly delicious, but it was quite small for a dinner portion.

Forget about Nawabs in Winston-Salem and try out this fantastic Indian restaurant located just a short drive from Hanes Mall. My clients and I were craving Indian food after a day of sightseeing and luckily, this restaurant was nearby. Feeling adventurous, we took a chance and dined there. I'm happy to say that we were not disappointed. The food is truly authentic with perfectly balanced flavors - not too spicy, not too bland. You can truly savor and appreciate the blend of spices in each dish.

The service at this restaurant was extremely slow. They charged $3 for a single, overly buttery phulka, which was a surprise as I have never seen such a buttery phulka in India or the US. Most restaurants would serve at least two breads for that price. The vegetable fried rice was not tasty. To top it off, we had to use the rice from our Chana masala order to finish our meal. I regret not dining elsewhere.

The wait times are horrendous! They seem concerned about online orders. Also, everyone in the lobby/bar was visibly upset with wait times for dine in and online due to the poor service. Worst is that their sanitation rating is an 80! I wouldn't recommend the place due to service and cannot trust their food based on their sanitation rating.

I've been happy each time we've eaten here. The food is good and the staff is friendly. This time we had vegetable samosa, chicken curry, naan bread, and a mango lassi. Definitely recommend.
