Sat there for about 5 min and then went to the restroom, came back and my husband still wasn't waited on. We sat there for a few more minutes and nothing. So we left.... prob won't be back.
Great waitress friendly and attentive. The hottess staff could improve on customer service. The salmon entree and salmon dip was fresh and a lot of food. I would definitely go again.
Luv the chicken parm absolutely delish! Especially if u r having a Negroni great service and loved the roof top lounge!!! So nice as we stayed at the hotel winters.
I cannot recommend CARBONI 'S for an event. To start, communication is impossible. No one picked up the phone the first time I called, so I left a message saying I wanted to host a surprise bday party for 10 people. I got a call back and made the reservation, no problem. I soon realized that no one EVER picks up the phone and my next two messages were not returned. My guest list had grown to 20 people and I wanted to sit outside near the fountain. In the few days prior to the party I asked the receptionist at Hotel Winters in which the restaurant is located and where I also had reservations to have the CARBONI 'S manager call me. Nothing. I asked for hotel Guest Services to call me. Nope. I now wanted to know if they would serve the b-day cake. A confirmation email was sent the day before and I included all the new information. As we arrived at Hotel Winters I was highly anxious about the lack of communication and preparation. My phone rang while parking and it was the restaurant calling to confirm. They had left two message that day, my husband 's birthday, that we had spent at Wilbur Hot Springs (highly recommended btw , without service there and almost all the way to the hotel. I hurriedly went over the arrangements with Frank who was taking care of us . That day my guest list had dropped to15 people and Frank set up outside. By the time the party started we were down to 10 people, last minute Covid concerns, illness and child care issues. When our server arrived and heard no more were coming, she rolled her eyes and looked annoyed. I said, I 'm sorry (why did I apologize for something beyond my control? and she replied so am I, I was supposed to go home . Not a good start, but she rallied and gave good service. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, the reason for the second star. My husband and the guests all had a good time. The bill came as I was saying goodbye to my guests. The server dropped off a total, non-itemized bill that was $415. I thought that was high as there had only been one drink ordered. As I put an $80 tip in the jar I asked for an itemized bill. She dropped it on the table and left. I then noticed that a $59 tip had already been added to the bill. I realize this is customary for large parties, but although it is itemized on the total bill, I had missed it in the chaos of people leaving. I felt very annoyed; did she really think she had earned a tip of $140 on a $350 bill? I went to find her inside and angrily asked for my cash back, Frank standing and listening. I said that the communication with the restaurant was unprofessional and upsetting, the last minute preparations anxiety producing and the tip issue the final straw for me with my experience at Carboni 's. SHE STARTED TO ARGUE WITH ME. But how was your service? Well, despite the eye-rolling and snide remark I tipped you $80 so it was good enough, I guess. We went to a lot of trouble to set up outside and only half your party showed up. Excuse me? Pushing five tables together, 16 chairs around and putting on tablecloths is a lot of trouble for a restaurant? I had no control as to who actually comes and I guess a Tuesday night bill of $350 for the restaurant and a $80 tip for a server is too much trouble for not enough return. You can bet WE will NOT return.
Very disappointing to find the rooftop. Loses with no notice. Read below message that I wrote to the manager.
