We wanted to eat Chinese again. our companions have known the lido for a long time and have warmed up from eating. the reviews have set our expectations quite high. the local is simply but typically decorated, the reception cordially. the table in order, one has enough space and does not feel narrow. the menu is rich, the classics of the Chinese cuisine are all to have. in the quality of the food then we were disappointed. the spring rolls to the appetizer were so lala, the pouletspies to satay sauce were rather dry. the beef to the main course was very good but too long roasted (dough,) in the two dressed with crispy deer (an orange sauce and as a speciality of the chef) the duck was anything but crispy and rather dry. the supplements were not a high flight. the Poulet-Curry has tasted the fellow. everything in all for us ok, but from 'best in town' (town = winterthur) far away. ew. the chef also had a bad day....or a bad guy in the kitchen.
There are two sorts tables: the normal (everyone gets to eat on his teller) or tables with rechauds in the middle where you can order several menues and everything comes almost as a small buffet in the middle of the table. the food was very delicious (besides the tofu, but so you don't order.) also the staff was very friendly and accommodating. we were the first, but certainly not the last time there! They also offer the food as take-away and in the summer it seems to have a terrace (where every 5min a train passes through, rather something for a quick lunch than a cozy dinner).
Super ambiente, very friendly staff, authentic and fantastic Asian eating. probably the best asia restaurant in winterthur. my favorite is the chef special menu with the crispy bark.
Very good restaurant with friendly service. we assed in the frame of a family dinner here and enjoyed eating very much. happy again.
