Red Lion - Wirksworth

The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, but overall it's a pleasant place, especially when you enter. The rooms have a quirky charm and feature extremely comfortable beds. There are plenty of lovely bags available, good-quality towels, and the usual amenities like tea, coffee, biscuits, and bottled water. The room was clean, and the shower had hot water. If you're interested in dining at the local restaurant, Unami, it's best to book in advance as it can get quite busy, but the food is excellent. The full English breakfast was particularly impressive. The staff are incredibly helpful in both the hotel bar and the restaurant, going above and beyond to ensure a warm welcome. It's a great base for walkers and those visiting friends in Weksworth. I'm looking forward to returning!

Fantastic pub!. the first time here, but I heard that the old location was just a small room. new location is much bigger to sit with several places. very eclectic. couches, coffee table, plate player, plate albums, large tree sculpture in the middle. the interior feels like a curiosity business. they always play good music.

Beautiful pub, large selection of well kept beer, eclectic decoration and a large atmosphere. we had the pleasure of finding live music on a Tuesday. I wish that was our local.

Was just there for gms, when ex weksworthian was great to be back and see the red lion that's fine. it still has a really lively atmosphere, great eating, attentive staff, and, although I was on a dry januar, I noticed, but not sampled, a really great choice of hand drawn bitters available. I have to come back in february and check them out.

The best pub in town if you like a laid back and interesting environment. Well-priced and has brilliant local drinks.
