Unfortunately, we were a bit disappointed when we arrived. first, it is not easy to find and is not on the lively seafront of new brighton, but on a rather sad looking road. it was a Sunday when we visited and we were disappointed to discover a very limited menu consisting of a frying dinner or a burger for £10,95 although in theory, the tapas style sounds interesting and different when the meal arrived, it was all on a plate and lost any tapas feel and definitiw not worth the £10,95 price tag. also the yorkshire puddings lacked on our teller! the atmosphere was also missing and it was very quiet in the inner. the decor is beautiful and the personal was friendly, but we let us be particularly disappointed after such a great writing up. Maybe if they go to lunch or in the week, they have a much more pleasant time, as the rest of the menu is very tasty and very accommodating for those with food intolerances. in all, I wouldn’t rush back to blackberry grove and recommend it to a friend, but if I were randomly in the opposite and tied a place of lunch except fish and chips, I would maybe give it another try. 4/10.
We had made a reservation for a table at this restaurant, but we were running late. We tried to call and notify them, but the phone just kept ringing. When we arrived, we found out that the phone had been turned off. Our table hadn't actually been reserved, but since the restaurant was empty, it wasn't a problem. Maybe they would have been busier if the phone had been on? The menu was a bit strange because it didn't really explain what you would get on the plate, such as chips with the burgers, alongside the set Christmas menu. We are locals and regulars at this restaurant, so we would come back again, but we think they need to improve their professionalism in the front of house. x
This was my first time dining at Blackberry Grove for Sunday Lunch. The Roast lunch we ordered was fantastic (although the gluten free Yorkshires were a bit different). The service was friendly and attentive, but we were not warned about how hot the dishes were. Overall, we had a good meal. The only downside was that the seating was not very comfortable; there were scattered cushions, but not enough for everyone. One thing to note is that the interior lighting is subtle and not visible from outside, making it difficult to tell if the restaurant is open during the day.
I booked a table for 8 people on a Wednesday evening, never having been to the Blackberry Grove before one of our group was vegan one was vegan and a Coeliac there was nowhere else on the Wirral I could think of that would be able to accommodate this. When we arrived the table was not ready the booking seemed to take the staff by surprise however they very quickly pushed two tables together for our party. There was a pub quiz in full swing which was unexpected however someone else in our group had seen on the website that this would be taking place at first it seemed a little noisy but in the interval we took the opportunity to join in and this added an extra fun element to our evening. There was a Wed night offer on fish and chips but the fish had sold out so the same offer was applied to any burgers we ordered as most of our party ordered burgers this was appreciated. The food was very good, the service was excellent (nothing was too much trouble) and the atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxed. Once the staff realised it was my son's birthday they brought him over a Blackberry Special cocktail on the house. I would definitely eat here again and am looking forward to trying the Sunday roasts which have been recommended by a friend. A small criticism was that the bread/oils/olive starter was disappointing/poor value the olives were just the pitted black green kind from a jar in brine. I would also suggest perhaps offering a vegan/vegetarian option on the dessert menu. Overall we had a lovely evening and I was very pleased with the decision to go there.
A limited but interesting menu. excellent service. furniture about rustic.
