Went to weatherspoons and had an amazing eggs Benedict with my partner it was lovely definitely go again my partner had a small breakfast
Our food was ok but not our second round of drinks: my beer hadn’t settled and when it did it wasn’t a full pint, and my partner’s cider had dried food on the glass, (see pictures). We couldn’t complain as we had our seven year old with us and there were no staff around.
We recently dined at your restaurant and unfortunately, it was the worst food I have ever had. We usually enjoy dining at Wetherspoons and during a visit to Wallasey for a gymnastics competition, we had limited time to feed my two children. I thought we could quickly stop in since I know the service is usually great. However, despite the food arriving quickly, our drinks never came and I had to go up and request them. The food was cold and mostly inedible. There were several items missing from the menu due to stock issues, and what we did receive was not tasty at all. It felt like a waste of money as we were unable to finish most of it. My son's egg was cold and overcooked. The burnt vegetable burger had no salad, just one end of a tomato (the part usually discarded). Overall, it was a terrible experience. I couldn't complain at the time as we had to rush back to the competition, but I am extremely disappointed. I have tried to make a formal complaint via email, but have not received any help. I was told someone would contact me, but after a month of following up, no one has responded or they simply redirect me to someone else. This lack of communication is unacceptable.
We enjoy dining at Spoons, but this particular experience was disappointing. It was a chilly day outside and the temperature inside was just as frosty - everyone was still bundled up in winter coats and hats. The plates and silverware were so cold that the bacon on our plates arrived stone cold. It was so uncomfortably cold inside that we didn't even stay for a hot drink. The staff was friendly as always, but be sure to dress warmly if you visit on a winter day.
