Unfortunately the fish was cold when we got it home (which wasn 't far). It was much more fry than fish. The fish meat itself was so thin that you really didn 't taste it through the fry batter. I ordered a baked potato with mine and it was still warm, moist and good. The other dinner was ordered with tater tots which were warm and stillcrunchy. The coleslaw was...coleslaw. A good balance of slaw to dressing. And then there was the caramel something roll, which was really more of a fried doughnut. I didn 't care for it. My friend said she liked hers but it was much more adoughnut. Give me a corn fritter and I 'd be much happier! Price for what you get I think was a little high. I understand that restaurants are hurting in these times, but I 'd rather have better quality (not necessarily more) for theprice.
We had such a great experience for dinner with Jennifer as our waitress! She brought our food and drinks out to us at the pool and kept checking up on us to make sure we were good. She was a great waitress! We went back for breakfast the next morning and the waitress and bartender working then were pretty rude and seemed annoyed with us as soon as we got there.
The Bar and Grill and Spring Brook was nicely decorated and looked inviting, but the staff were not really welcoming. They weren't rude, but also not very friendly. I had the gyro and tots, both of which were very good. My husband had the hot dog and tots a hot dog's a hot dog : . My white wine was on the warm side disappointing. It was convenient for the first night after a long drive, but we found other places to eat the remainder of our stay.
Great experience here. Everything was so delicious! I highly recommend it. Our kids were quite happy with their pizza, chicken tender and corn dogs with seasoned fries (the best! and the adults were spoiled on the papa smokehouse platter- wings, pulled pork sand, ribs and sides. Not to mention some classic and fun tap beers. This will be our 'go to ' place from now on when we come to the Dells.
I've been playing music at Spring Brook for about two years now, and I have to say, aside from the fact that the food is amazing, the atmosphere is spot on and the place is always busy (but not so busy that you can't get service). I have to say that what makes it truly special, are the staff. Truly amazing people that care about you enough to make sure you have an amazing experience every time you are there. Absolutely fantastic!
