Feedback gevenNormally, I 'd be giving a great review. But this year our stay was not good because we always stay over the 4th. Unfortunately, the 4th was rained out so they rescheduled for the 5th. Totally fine! This is our 4th year coming over the 4th of July. The fireworks are always 20-25 minutes and AMAZING. The fireworks this year were 10 minutes! TEN! I recorded the whole show. It started at 9:53 and ended at 10:03. My kids were so disappointed, they turned around and said that 's it? . We paid over $2000 for our family of 7 to enjoy what 's usually an amazing 4th. I 'm SO disappointed, and we are definitely switching it up next year. What bugs me even more is I sent them a text saying I was disappointed and they tried to lie and say they were 20 min… cmon if they would have been honest and said “we’re sorry we had issues” or something they would still have my business. Additionally, housekeeping has NEVER come to our suite to refresh towels and toiletry! Even though I receive text that they would.

Our trip was truly great with our two kids. Everything was extremely clean! Housekeeping staff were fast, efficient, and personable. My only suggestion is to ensure the water park lifeguard staff are fluent in English enough to understand what you're saying at conversation speed. There's a disconnect there, and if the issue was urgent, it could have been a major issue.
I’ve never had a bad experience in the previous years but this time something happened that made me upset. It was around 6:40 and this specific ride in the inside waterpark closes at 7, we wanted to get on for the last time before heading back to our room, my daughter was so excited but when we got to the top the life guard told me the ride was closed for the day so we went back down and to my surprise he let the people behind us get on the ride. I was upset because my daughter was crying the whole way down and it’s not fair that he let the other people go but not us. Today was our last day and at around 10:20 a staff member came to knock and ask if we were about to leave and i said we were almost ready and then again at 10:40 another staff member came and just opened the door on us and I told her we were not ready yet. Checkout is before 11 so why were they pressuring us? We left the room at 10:50
So I left a review about coming here last year with my family for memorial day weekend and it was less than stellar by far and I left a review that showcased our disappointment. much to the credit of the management at Kalahari they made gave us a deal to come back to try and show us that it was usually better than the experience we had. Rick in reservations was super helpful in helping us get the reservation set and really started our weekend out on the best foot possible. they have made a ton of renovations, the check in area with kiosks was updated and made it much easier and created a better flow to get your vacation started. one of my biggest problems last year was staff related whether it was bad training or not enough staff to run the building but they have done a great job fixing that. the front desk was great at getting us set up and checked in. they also did renovations to the area entering into the park including adding a Mexican restaurant and updating the snack bar concession area, all of this was great as it made it much easier getting into the park as before you had to go thru the locker rooms but now its thru a doubles set of doors and you're in. the water park was adequately staffed this time as it was not when were here last and some attractions were not open because of the lack of guards. the rooms were clean and the staff in general was much improved and we a pretty awesome time so I'm pleased to say that they earned my respect and my loyalty to come back with my kids again soon!
