At the Leeuwin estate, just before the cellar door closed. we could have a few samplers before we buy some bottles. when we were late and the restaurant were already closed, we could sit outside and enjoy our newly bought. tasty bottles, along with the great view and the sunset. will definitely try again more the wee and the eating menu next time.
This is a beautiful place to walk around and enjoy a wein. the view of the restaurant is beautiful. the gardens are so well maintained and the entire area is well maintained.
We visited the farm today according to the high recommendations to the weeping etc. the farm is absolutely stunning! my tante is not a weintrinker and she is our designated driver, so we asked if it would be possible for her to have a cappuccino while. I would try some weeping. as explained by the personal it was not normal, but the dame (sorry I don't her name) went through a lot of effort and organized it for us, thank them so much! I've tasted four weeping, all very good. because my aunt did not show a tasting display with her cappuccino I accompanied her on the brown leather couches next to the tasting counter. the counter was busy, so I thought it was all in order. after my third tasting, when I returned to the desk cameron (the guy with the gray hair) was so upset with me by sitting his not “Etiket” on the couch tasting wine, I should stand at the theke and that it is not allowed to taste wine like this on the farm! I was so shocked that I actually had no word to answer. I feel that this was very rude to say to me like a child I made wrong with other guests. I have tasted wee all over the world, I live in the weeping areas in South Africa, and no one has ever been so rude or had such rules. this is my first time, out and actually the first weinbauernhof that also makes a tasting, and this experience has left a very bitter taste in my mouth. I felt very humble. next time, please approach this quietly and just explain what the rules of the farm are, I would have understood, but I was inappropriate as that was. many thanks to augusto (I hope that I got her name right) for friendly after that, explaining the shiraz and with a chat, it is much appreciated.
Thoroughly enjoyed our late lunch 3 course meal with wine pairing. Flavour sensation with every course and wine matched perfectly. Our main waitress was so knowledgeable and friendly. After lunch enjoyed the gallery downstairs and learning more about the Estate as well as a...tasting and finishing the afternoon with a glass of vino in the sun on the huge lawn. Stunning grounds. Highly recommend.
