We ordered our food at the table using the app. Within 5 minutes they had brought cutlery to the table, but was at least 25 mins before we received our food. We said we had ordered drinks and asked where they were they eventually came. We were not asked if we wanted any condiments. I had posh fish and chips, which was overcooked had to tell them I had no mushy peas which came with the dish. My granddaughter had a pasta dish which was vile, she managed to eat some of it but the pasta was dry and all stuck together she couldn’t even chew it. I took her dish back and asked for a refund of her dish which they gave me. No apology, nothing. I would never visit there again. It would be a lovely place , very inviting but the food badly lets it down. It is ideal to visit before or after visiting the theatre but sadly after that bad experience I will be giving it a miss.
Food lovely, eventually! There were 10 of us and only 2 meals were correct. All the others were returned as not what was ordered. Service slow. Won't go again.
We enjoyed the 2 course evening set menu, lasagne and burger and then apple crumble and chocolate .Lager and Inexpensive South African red wine good. Service quite good, friendly but a trifle slow. An unremarkable, comfortable pub restaurant serving fairly good food at a modest price. My local which I should visit more often.
Great local pub nessie, caroline and harrison were so welcoming and friendly lovely chat will defo come again.
