Shadows On The Hudson

We( 2 Sr. Citizens, 1 adult and one 4 year old boy arrived Sunday at 1 pm for lunch. It took a long time to get a waiter but we were told we could Order a la carte and were given the menu. We ordered drinks, 3 chicken sandwiches and Mac cheese for the child. Waited a long while and then with our drinks we were told we had to have the buffet no sandwiches until 2 pm. The boy’s apple juice arrive in a glass goblet. Our cocktails were weak. The buffet had many selections that had been out all morning. They were not hot. Dried out and tasteless. Even the desserts were tasteless. $40/pp X 3 and $20child plus $50 drinks and Tax and tip . Over $200!!! Who eats here? No small child menu/ accommodations , no kids cups for juice. Not for disabled or seniors as you have to get up, open doors to serve yourself. Difficult to open doors with plate in hand. Outrageous price for Poor service and tasteless buffet food.

I have had two luncheon experiences here and both were pretty bad..the first i found Saran Wrap in my lobster salad, i almost choked on it and it wasn’t by any means an inexpensive lunch — complimentary dessert was sent over but the check should have been completely comped or a gift card ..one year later and another expensive luncheon 2 uneventful lobster scampi— claw meat only the spongy bits , citrus heavy, overcooked linguine….just horrendous execution effort..the service is untrained and rushed..dessert menus were never even brought to the table..just asked if there was any interest?? All this and a flat reserve white burgundy by the glass …The view is stunning worthy…but the food service need urgent attention .. I don’t normally leave reviews and im a veteran nyc restaurant professional but this place could be spectacular and it just isn’t..

I live very close to this location. I love the ambiance. The view of the water is breathtaking. Service is very good. Food does not match the location in my opinion but it is not bad at all. You might try the food and say why did I put a 3 because it is not bad. I am just being honest with quality versus ambiance and the type of restaurant. I still eat here because it is beautiful! ?. What can I say. Enjoy!

A beautiful dining experience overlooking the Hudson during sunset. One could imagine Henry Hudson sailing up the river for the first time. Attentive service, delicious food and generous portions.

Lovely restaurant with wonderful views of the Hudson. Food nicely prepared with great service. Food is a bit pricey, but worth it . Plenty of free parking.
