Speedway - Woodbridge

First of all, I want to clarify that I do enjoy going to Speedway. I will go out of my way to visit the gas station and store. However, my recent experience at this particular store was not great. I went to get an .89 cent any size freeze drink, but the older man at the counter charged me $3.14 for 2 drinks. I pointed out that they were supposed to be .89 each and I had 2, but he insisted that there was fine print that I missed. I offered to pour the drinks into smaller cups and pay the correct amount, but he refused. Since he didn't have to pay for waste like the owner does, he told me to either leave it or pay the full price. I chose to leave the drinks behind. This was the first time I had encountered such an issue at Speedway. I am writing this review because the owner's product was wasted due to the lack of care from the employee. I will not purchase anything from that store while he is working there. The owner lost a paying customer because of the employee's attitude towards waste.

I've been going to this gas station since back when it was a Hess, mostly for its convenient location right on Route 9. Attendants are usually fine, gas prices are fairly competitive, and the convenience store has a lot of options. The prices are often slightly cheaper at the Speedway up on West Pond or the 7-Eleven in the same area, but if you're not headed that way, this is a good, convenient gas stop.

The gas attendant at this restaurant pretended to fill up my car after I asked for a full tank. They took my card, ran it, gave it back, put the pump in my car, and then removed it before it was actually done. I didn't receive a receipt because they had made me wait before. I had to turn around to get closer to them so they could finish the job, as they were too busy chatting with someone else. I only realized they hadn't actually filled my tank when my gas light came on while driving down the turnpike. I would not recommend going to this restaurant.

The beverage refrigerators were down the day I visited. Everything was warm and I hope they were discarded and not resold. On prior visits I've found expired soda, energy drinks, candy and chips. The super slow cashier doesn't look like she cares when you bring it to her attention. I'd give 0 stars if it were an option. Horrible customer service.

There are three key factors that set this gas station apart from the others in my opinion: cheap prices, a well-stocked convenience store offering coffee, snacks, and possibly even hot food, and a modern air machine that accepts Apple Pay and credit card payments in addition to quarters. The gas station offers friendly assistance at the pumps, with a convenient and spacious store that meets all your basic needs. Overall, your experience at this gas station will be enhanced by these factors.
