Caldense Bakery - Woodbridge

My family visits this place frequently for the Portuguese tarts. We absolutely love them! They have just the right amount of sweetness, and the packaging is quite unique. I would definitely recommend it!

I would rate this place a zero. I visited on Wednesday morning around 7:30 AM to pick up some treats for my coworkers. I specifically asked the young lady at the counter if the Portuguese tarts were freshly baked. Is it too much to expect that from a bakery? She assured me they were fresh, so I went ahead and bought them. However, the tarts were definitely baked at least a day or two earlier, had been stored in the fridge, and tasted overly sweet. It's embarrassing to even call them tarts, especially after I just returned from Portugal. I am truly disappointed, and I'm not even Portuguese. SHAME ON YOU FOR LYING!

We ordered Tiramisu cake and rice pudding, and unfortunately, both tasted stale. They were excessively sweet—after just a bite or two, we lost any desire for more. The Tiramisu had a layer of frosting on top that was so unpleasant we had to scrape it off to continue eating. It felt like a complete waste of money, and we won't be returning.

Incredibly delicious strawberry éclairs! I stumbled upon this place by chance, and it's a pity I only got one. I'll definitely be coming back for more tomorrow!

This is our favorite place for a special treat or a freshly baked loaf. They have a wonderful variety to choose from!
