Then we googled something close to our home in lake Elmo and this place came up. Can't say enough about the food and service. The only reason I gave it a four for atmosphere was because it's not a standalone establishment. Otherwise everything else was a five 5 plus. We will be going back many times I'm sure.
I must say this restaurant is an amazing place with fabulous vaitnamese authentic food. There are abundance choices of meals. Vaitnamese egg rolls are one of my favorites. Soft noodles with affluent of veges makes it mouth watering. I would recommend this place to those who are looking for the vaitnamese food with authentication....
Everything was delicious. We were regulars at Thanh Truc but moved so we haven't been there. Since change of ownership. The chef kept the menu as before and it was excellent. Quantity was generous, Service was wonderful. Server also said there is Indian food included now. Can't wait to return. Highly recommend it!
I would actually rate zero star. I should’ve listen to my gut but then decided to stay put and not make things difficult for the wife. I asked my wife immediately upon seating if she wants to stay or go but retracted and as mentioned opted to stay.“Authentic” is used wrongfully in every way here. The server provided us with glasses of water only after we received our non-authentic food. Never refilled the water. I should mention we were only one of two tables being waited on; soon the only table.Tables lacked any standing condiments and or necessities for a bowl of pho. The veggie tray with sides for pho had only two pieces of dried wrinkled jalapeño and dead basil. The pho bowl did not have nearly enough broth and when asked for more soup broth I was charged $5.00 extra. As the red flags continues to tally up I tried to remain optimistic but yet wanted to know more thus I did some research while dining and learned that indeed it was not Vietnamese owned and definitely not authentic.Service was poor.Quality was very poor.Overall experience we both agreed we will never return and we would listen to our guts and not be ashamed to turn around quietly and leave. In case folks are wondering. We paid our bill (as we did order and try the food) and the wife was still nice enough to leave a tip.
I know there have been a couple of reviews complaining about the new ownership and the food not being as good. I was a little leery to order because of that, but I am glad I did. Everything was fantastic. We got our usual eggrolls, special fried rice, chicken wings, and wontons. Everything tasted awesome. They still have the best cream cheese wontons on the planet. What I am EXTREMELY excited about is the addition of a couple Indian dishes to the menu. We ordered the butter chicken, goat curry and chicken tikka masala. It was all great we enjoyed it very much and are really glad we have an option for some Indian food so close to our house now. Our experience at Thanh Truc was great, as always. We welcome the new owners and wish them well! Thank you!
