But there's no need to worry, as The Heavy Restaurant Group will be taking over this wonderful location and transforming it into Pablo y Pablo. Goodbye to breakfast and brunch; hello to Mexi CAN! I've made so many memories here—school fundraisers, outings with the MOMS Club of Woodinville, family meals, Black Friday breakfasts, and fun days with friends. I suppose we'll be back soon to explore something new!
Great breakfast spot, and it's been discovered. We used to come in around 10 and found we had to wait, but now the wait starts around 9 to 9:30. This weekend we were told it would be a 30 to 40 minute wait for walkups at 9:30. We sat at the bar, which was just fine, but noticed that half the tables were empty. Weird for a breakfast place with a long wait. Reservations! They take reservations two weeks in advance, so get reservations on the weekend. I enjoy the food, and they have various alcoholic beverages for the brunch crowd. I'm not usually into day drinking but you see a lot of Hawks jerseys in the fall, and the drinks are flowing for the pre func before the pre game before the party. They have excellent quality baked goods and coffee. Biscuits and gravy very good. The food quality is well above your typical breakfast fare. Breakfast burrito or eggs Bene are great. Well worth a visit.
I came here for brunch after a night of drinking before/during/after the Porter Robinson concert. At the time I remembered thinking my meal really hit the spot for the occasion. I got a southern style eggs benedicts which contained carnitas, red pepper hollandaise, and pico de gallo. I don't see it on their menu currently, so I guess it was a daily/seasonal special. Here's the rundown: red pepper hollandaise was tasty and the red pepper flavor was very apparent carnitas were flavorful and delicious potatoes were crispy (just how I like them eggs and bread were drowning in the hollandaise sauce. I would've preferred a little less sauce even though it was good. eggs were closer to soft boiled then poached (not necessarily a bad thing but it's not something I expected . I also shared a cinnamon roll which was quite nice. I would definitely consider coming back to The Commons if I knew they had a new eggs benedict to try. I haven't lived in Seattle for long, but it's been difficult looking for brunch places I like Eastside.
They’ve eliminated the 20% service charge, which is a positive change! However, the service still needs improvement. For starters, the system of lining up to order at the counter doesn’t really work for a restaurant. I understand it’s a covid-related rule, but it just feels off. To make matters worse, they got my order wrong three times. I specified no bacon, but my meal kept arriving with bacon or incorrect items. On the bright side, the food is always fresh and delicious, and the location is fantastic! If only the service could improve, I would definitely give this place more stars.
We are just resetting our reviews. Commons has some nice elements but it is not 5 stars
