Feedback gevenI made a reservation for Mother's Day, but when we arrived, there was no table set aside for us. It was open seating, which meant everyone had to find their own table. We ordered our food at the counter and waited an hour and a half before being informed that our order hadn't even begun preparation. We were told it would take at least another 30 minutes if we decided to stay. I noticed that nearly all the customers in the outdoor seating area ended up leaving without ever receiving their meals. A restaurant that operates on an open seating system doesn't seem to work well with reservations.
I made a reservation for Mother's Day and ended up waiting in line for 40 minutes just to place our order. After an hour, our food and appetizers arrived at the same time. It was a terrible experience for our family of five on such a special day. I think this might be the end of our visits to The Commons. So disappointing!
The experience wasn’t great, especially since most restaurants have had a year to develop or acquire an app for ordering food at your table. Mother’s Day was particularly disappointing as they had run out of their brunch specials, and we had to wait in a long line to place our order. This really made it difficult to maintain social distancing.
I think they are still trying to figure out the new normal. Service was very slow. They brought food but no silverware or napkins. No refills on drinks. We were outside and rarely saw a service person at all.
Food was fine, did have to wait longer than we expected but figure it was working out the kinks and rules for reopening. Only problem was the food was a bit spicy for 2 of us.
