Waited 30 minutes for a burger that was about 10 minutes past sure leather, since they asked I requested medium rare. The Gorgonzola Cajun burger had neither Gorgonzola nor Cajun flavor. The garlic fries were good, but hardly made up for the rest of the meal. I would not recommend.
I was super bummed out. Multiple people have recommended Woodin Creek to me and sadly it did not live up to the hype.I will say. We went on a Saturday at dinner time. And it was busy. We were sat in the bar. Which the music was loud and made conversation difficult.Service was slow. I think our waitress had too many tables to herself. Girl was running around non stop. Very responsive. But seems like we had to catch her attention if we needed anything vs her coming by to check on us. Again. It was busy. The food was the big let down. It took forever to get our appetizers and food. The appetizers were good. But nobody gave us small plates to share. So we had to awkwardly eat Brussels sprouts all off the same plate. We finally flagged someone down but at that point we were pretty much done with the appetizers. When we got our main dishes. I wasn’t very impressed. I got salmon. It was a little overcooked and not much flavor at all. Especially considering it apparently had a sauce on it. The fingerling potatoes were yummy. And the mixed veggies could have been good. If they weren’t honest to god cold. Like clearly they were put on the dish long before the rest of the items were. And they had gotten cold. Cold steamed veggies. Yuck.I considered mentioning it to the waitress but didn’t want to wait another 20 minutes to eat. So I just picked around the cold veggies. Which thankfully between the other two parts and our appetizer, I did walk away full. Then the next day myself and another family member had really upset stomachs. Not sure if it was too much grease. Or poor food handling. But it was concerning.Believe it or not. I would like to give the restaurant another chance. But next time I will be waiting to sit in the dining room and not the bar. And I’ll probably avoid weekends. Because I would like my food to be warm and well handled.
Normally I enjoy this place but this time I made it down a bit later than I normally do for brunch on Sundays and basically got to order food and 1 drink then be ignored until 10 minutes after I got done eating before being asked if I wanted a refill on my drink. I took the check and left because I would of liked a refill 15 minutes ago when my drink was empty by the time my food showed up. Having 1 bartender on staff during a brunch/lunch rush isn't something a they should do as the bartender wasn't being lazy they didn't stop moving the whole time there was just a full bar and drink orders coming in. I will stick to going to this place on down times where there aren't many there so the understaffing isn't an issue.
After at least four enjoyable breakfast visits last summer, we came here for breakfast on my birthday today and were roundly ignored. Hope you made good tips off the all female 6-top you were focusing on.
