Feedback gevenWe visited for the launch of the new menu, and the food was fantastic! The chicken wings, a new addition, were delicious with a crispy outside and tender, juicy inside. The restaurant was clean, and the decor, while modern, has a distinct Western American vibe. What stood out the most was the friendly and welcoming staff and owners, who provided excellent service. I highly recommend trying the bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers and the rolled ice cream dessert—they looked amazing, and I regret not taking more pictures.
However, my experience changed on my last visit. The service was not at all up to the standard I had previously enjoyed. I ordered ahead for pickup, but when I arrived, I was told they hadn't started making my food yet. I ended up waiting in the drive-thru for 15 minutes—what's the point of ordering ahead if it doesn't expedite the process? Given the prices, I expected a better level of service. Update in April 2023: I raised my rating from 3 to 4 stars thanks to Shay, our server. She was incredibly attentive, quickly bringing our drinks and food to the table. Shay was friendly without overdoing the conversation, which made for a comfortable dining experience. The food was fantastic! We had fried mushrooms, a sausage sandwich, and a combo platter with pulled pork and brisket—everything was amazing! Update in October 2023: Once again, Shay took our to-go order, and she never fails to impress. We truly enjoy having her as our server. So why the lower rating? Prices are increasing, and the portion sizes are shrinking. A $24 salad looked like what I've attached in the photos—definitely not worth it.
The barbecue here was disappointing; it seems like they only smoke their meat once or twice a week. The meat was dry and overly salted. I've had better tasting shoe leather. It really did not meet my expectations. I think they could benefit from traveling south or to Kansas City to learn how to properly make barbecue.
Having lived in the south, the food is pretty good! It’s hard to find good barbecue in Colorado. It’s a little pricey but not bad if you buy bulk.The biggest qualm I have is the service. Every time my husband and I have been in here, the girl that serves us (same girl each time— she looks about 17) either acts really dismissive and annoyed/unhelpful or she is unprofessional. At one point they didn’t have any straws or silverware and she seemed annoyed when we asked for them initially. We were attempting to order carry out this evening and she was having a full conversation in another language, very loudly with the other person at the register. Because there wasn’t much movement in the restaurant or many customers, it sort of absorbed the atmosphere and felt super distracting.I don’t think we’ll be back.
Our whole group had either chopped brisket sandwiches or a meal with chopped brisket.It was surprising that the brisket wasn’t really chopped but small cubes. It was chewy for brisket, no matter how it’s cut up and had more fat than you’d expect as normally the fat melts as the brisket is cooked.Not my favorite BBQ by a long shot.The beer was good.
