Feedback gevenTook a friend for a birthday ???????? bite to eat and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was. The creamy habanero sauce was the ultimate mouthwatering garnish on my fresh Baja tacos. Mmmmmm. ¡Gracias Serrano's!
By far the best Mexican restaurant I have been to in a decade. Chips, salsa and cheese dip were amazing! (Why can?t I get cheese dip like this everywhere? . I tried the enchilada sampler truly amazing!
UPDATE: In response to the owner's comments, I understand that this platform is for sharing personal opinions, which is what I've done. You're correct that comparing prices between South Texas and our area may not be fair, and I acknowledge that my wording could have been better. However, I was surprised to receive tiny tacos instead of the regular-sized ones we expected. That said, sharing a personal opinion shouldn't invite insults from the owner, and maybe Serrano's isn't the right fit for us after all.
We waited a very long time—over 40 minutes—for our food to arrive. My husband ordered a beef quesadilla, while I chose the tilapia Puebla. Unfortunately, the food was not good, and we found it to be overpriced. As you can see in the attached picture, the portion was only worth $20, the same price as my husband's dish. Our total came to $50, and that was without any drinks. I managed to finish my meal simply because I was starving, but I really don’t want to think about the taste anymore, especially since I know it would take a long time to wait for another dish. My husband also didn't enjoy his food but ate it out of hunger. The quesadilla was gross and sloppy. We found the service to be very slow, especially since there were only two tables occupied, including ours. The long wait time without reason, combined with the poor quality of the food, makes this place not worth it. We do not recommend this restaurant and certainly will not be returning.
However, the atmosphere is fantastic, adorned with Mexican artwork and decor. There’s a charming little bar and a TV setup, which adds to the vibe. The staff was friendly, and I was pleasantly surprised to see a Hispanic team working there instead of the typical Caucasian teens (not that there's anything wrong with that, especially since we were in Woodland Park). The woman at the front was lovely and welcoming. If I were to return, it would be infrequently because of the prices, but it's definitely a spot worth visiting if you're craving Mexican food. The tacos de asada were delicious, the arroz rojo and beans tasted homemade, and the bean and cheese chimichanga really hit the spot!
