We visited the Woodvale Tavern on a whim. We had heard it was one of the best Sunday roast carveries in Perth. When we visited we saw the normal food menu and decided to order from that. I had the fish and chips and the husband ordered the steak, oh we were naughty and also ordered a side of onion rings. Our meals were perfect, I must say it is the first time I have ever had food envy for a steak. Ooooohh that steak was perfect, the sauce was rich and everything was just spot on.The decor of the Woodvale Tavern is a mixture between a German beer hall and an old English pub. It is a bit open plan, but we had an intimate lunch in a booth and were very happy with the entire experience. The only negative to this place is that you order food in one location and drinks in another, but that's the worst thing I can say about the place.
Had a relaxing Sunday lunch with 3 courses of all you can eat. Very good as it was last time we visited. Pub was busy. Only bad thing was the gents toilets which were disgraceful which shows the staff DO NOT check them. A good family Pub
Walked in for an early (530pm) weekday (Mon) dinner - not having been here before - nice ambience - Olde English Pub style, many booths to choose from, large dining area. Ordered and paid at the counter - had a Seafood Share Platter - didn't look very much - but the end we were satisfied. The seafood was fresh, tasty and very good. Washed down with a glass of Cab.Sauv. (ordered from the bar).Wait and bar staff were friendly, and pleasant. We'll come back here again with friends - prices are reasonable as too are drinks. We might try one weekend evening when there is music.
Not the best service -when ordering we were asked the name of the person for each corresponding meal.....when they were brought to the table the waitress did not have the names and when asked who it was for and when we explained that we gave the names (as some people ordered a bit later than others and weren't staying long) she got stroppy with us.....she was getting quite visibly angry...not a nice experience...also inconsistent meal sizes - chicken parmigana was huge and the pork belly which was $5 more was tiny( what I would consider entree size) with a spoonful of vegetable(mashed sweet potato?) and a small roti - a rip off really and a disappointment - fish and chips was a decent size too - seems the pork belly was the worst choice for value for money!....we got loads of shared entrees - bacon mac and cheese balls were an absolute rip off - 3 small balls for $15!....not comparable in price to same items in other nearby restaurants ...won't be coming back...rather drive further to a couple of suburbs away to other taverns where we always get a decent sized meal and value for money
