The Woodville Hotel - Woodville South

Fiona and I have just had our second visit to this newly renovated hotel and it is great. First visit we had a selection of grazing plates and this time we chose the stone grill and I can highly recommend either choice, the quality of the food is outstanding, excellent service from the bar and waiting staff combine to make this a top venue. We will be back

Visited here for our monthly group dinner. There were 11of us this time, a mix of 5 couple + a single. Bit of a mix up to start with as they couldn't find our booking but not sure where the fault lie as I didn't book. However, in incredibly efficient fashion they had a couple of trestle tables put together with table cloths & chairs etc all sorted in quick time. Generously, offering a round of drinks as compensation for the inconvenience. Awesome! Menu is quite wide with plenty of selections over the 3 courses available. All course selections are of quite generous sizing, too. If your a big eater it will suit you & if your not you will struggle to get through some selections. Just ask the staff for guidance. Almost everyone at our table had different meals over the the 3 courses chosen. Each time the meals come out almost simultaneously. So everyone is eating at the same time. Brilliant! All meals served were absolutely magnificent. Several of the group couldn't quite eat all of the main meal, such was size of the servings.Steaks were cooked absolutely perfect at medium rare & superbly tender. Fish, snitzels, salads, chicken etc, all were excellent & satisfying. The female floor manager was just brilliant, making sure all was well throughout the evening for us.If fact every single staff member our group had interaction with were very pleasant & made the evening just so much better. Most mains were in the $18 - $28 range. Other things like carparking is a little limited as it fills up quick. But there is side street parking(& out the front on Port Rd. This is limited to 2 hours)This establishment is in the Entertainment Book as well, for a bit of discount, which makes for a bargain night out.This has been a highlight of our monthly get togethers. We all had stone grill steak with lobster..................outstanding dining. reception staff could have been a little better though.

Stopped into the Woodville Hotel for a drink with some friends. Beautiful decor in the front bar! Service was fast and friendly and it was just generally a nice environment to relax in. Would definitely go again!

Birthday lunch for 85 year old so obviously ordered the stone grill steak which took awhile to come out as larger tables of diners who rang orders through ahead were served before us which when queried over the time taken was pleasantly told - maybe could have been mentioned when we placed our order as we also had a child in our group and kids don't wait! However all forgotten as the steak was great & the concept was well received. All other meals were good too & the burger (which I have ordered before) was as yummy as ever. Busy day (Friday) but staff handled well considering everyone showed up at once! Thanks - will book again
