The Lemon Tree - Wrexham

The emphasis is on Restaurant! Food and service good. Must book in advance. We stayed for two nights in one of the ground floor rooms. Good access from the car park. Room basic and small, but everything you would expect, shower room, tea& coffee making facilities, even a small fridge! Ideal for one person overnight on a business trip! Wardrobe and drawers were inaccessible and cramped, not good when trying to hang out wedding outfits! Lock on the door was unpredictable sometimes it locked, sometimes it didn't. Car park is via a very narrow access to the side of the hotel. A small car would have no problem, we damaged our 4x4 getting into the car park.

Really bad Sunday lunch experience yesterday. Cold food, small portions, and have to pay extras for basics like gravy. Staff were rude (including the manager) and could hear kitchen staff swearing in the background. Poor menu choice for starters and desserts but still have to pay for them even if not ordered. Id never go here again. Many much better options with nicer food and better portions and quality in the area.

Disappointing father's day lunch at the Lemon Tree. One of our orders was forgotten by the kitchen, despite the waiter double checking, and as a result one of the main courses arrived ten minutes after the others. One of our party only wanted a main course but we were charged for two courses when I challenged this with the staff, we were told very rudely that this was apparently made clear on the menu (it wasn't the menu merely states the price for two or three courses) and that there is no option to only have one course. The food was pretty good if a bit lukewarm but let down by poor service and rude staff.

What a little gem of a place. All the staff were, friendly, helpful and very efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was first class and beautifully presented. Compliments to the chef. Very comfortable accommodation in a lovely old building.

Staying for two nights. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, with tea/coffee/hot chocolate supplied. Very welcome after a long drive and a stormy day. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant, and staff were lovely. Delicious, top quality snd unique. However, my hubby noticed a 7.5% service charge on the bill and was disappointed. The bill was £77 and he would have paid £90, but as service charge was added, he just paid that and so staff were short changed in the long run. Sometimes it’s better to leave it up to the customer….
