Giraffe - Wynyard Quarter New Zealand

I visited Giraffe for breakfast and was promptly seated by the friendly staff. After being seated, we did experience a bit of a wait (about 15-20 minutes) before anyone returned to take our order. We noticed it, but it wasn't a concern since we weren't too hungry and didn't feel rushed. Once our order was placed, the head chef came over shortly after to sincerely apologize for the wait and offered us a complimentary bowl of fresh fruit. We were a bit puzzled since we hadn't minded the delay. The food arrived just a minute later. Then the manager came by to apologize again for the wait on our order and offered us a complimentary drink, which we politely declined as we didn’t want to take advantage. The food was absolutely delicious, and all the staff, including the head chef who said goodbye as we left, were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Despite the initial wait for our order, we had a fantastic experience and would definitely recommend Giraffe! They truly went out of their way to ensure our satisfaction, which we greatly appreciated!

I also scored some $10 cocktails, which was a nice bonus. The creamed spinach was delightful. The staff were excellent, and the location was great—especially if you can get a seat beside the viaduct!

Beautiful fit out, good lighting, and nicely presented dishes. We went twice in the same week since we were quite impressed with the food on the first time. Service was a bit slow on both times considering that it wasn’t very busy. Price was on the higher end of the spectrum but not insane.
