I love the food here! My husband and I could only finish 3/4 of what we bought so happy to have leftovers. I ordered by Grub Nabe, who was probably redirected by Yelp. The word VEGAN often appears in the online menu!! I always think this is a plus in the decision. In the Notes section I asked for NO OIL and I feel that the request was honoured. The food was all very tasteful and full of these special Indian spices!
My husband discovered this hidden gem on Division Street. We parked in the back and entered through the back door. I ordered Chai, which was delicious. The vegetable pakora was cooked perfectly and the mango chutney had the right amount of sweetness. The lentil soup was bursting with flavors and a hint of heat. Both the lamb madras and chicken channa were tasty. The naan and paratha complemented the meal well. The staff was friendly, the food fresh, and the atmosphere pleasant. Overall, it was a lovely dining experience.
The food at this restaurant was delicious and the staff took the time to explain each dish to us. They listened to our concerns about spice levels and Tony made recommendations based on our tastes. The food was served quickly and was hot. My wife and I plan to return to try more recommendations, as the restaurant was not crowded when we visited for dinner. I am considering trying their lunch buffet soon. We left with four boxes of leftovers because the portions were very generous.
I have been a loyal customer at India Town for a decade, and it is my top choice for Indian cuisine. The cooking style here sets it apart from other Indian restaurants, and the menu is extensive. Tony makes the most delicious Tikka Masala that I have ever tasted.
