El Puerto Méxican Grill - Wytheville

Service and food were mediocre at best. Salsa lack of taste, food lacks taste... But they bring it super fast! The chips were fresh and warm, but they don't bring you more than a small basket... I asked for spicy salsa and never got it with my meal or otherwise. On the other hand, I didn't let myself be angry, as I often make it from Mexican cuisine.

I and my family were sitting here on September 4th. I have to say the staff was super friendly and the food was great. Read a few negative reviews, but decided to come and try it anyway and I'm glad we did because my first experience here was great. My wife ended her plate without a to-go box that is rare so you should also say. Thanks El Puerto Mexican Grill!!! We both said we'd definitely eat again here.

When we stopped the desired chips and salsa for dinner on the street. My top regal margherita was not as good as I had hoped to change to wine. Food was decent even though my husband didn't care so much about his Fajitas. My Enchiladas were really pretty good! Place was busy though it was late. Not sure if it's a local or traveling through the area. Anyway, it was decent.

It used to be my favorite Mexican restaurant, but I doubt I'm returning. I wanted a chicken taco salad and not on the menu, was said I could get the chicken Fajitas salad. Hot, slimy vegetables and chicken on a small amount of salad. Not much taste. We paid $3,75 for about a quarter of a cup something they said was Guacamole. The service was just a little better than the food. Maybe they had a day off.

This was a surprisingly good and unexpected find. I am traveling and staying at a hotel up the hill, so I figured I'd get something here after being on the road all day. I didn't look up the place beforehand, I went in totally blind, but ended up being blown away with a great meal at a reasonable price with great service. I forget the name of the dish, it was chicken, shrimp, steak, with mixed veggies, rice, and cheese. The dish was great, with a good mix of meats and veggies with a great flavor. Good portion size too, especially considering it was only $13. The service is great here too, the waitress was very on top of things, and everything was rapid fast, we walked in, ordered, ate, and left in like 45 minutes and that was with me needing more time to review the menu. They appear to be taking Covid safety seriously, all the staff are masked, they have directional traffic to get in and out of the dining room, and they are using paper menus. I look forward to stopping in again in the future!
