High Plains Barbecue - Wytheville

If you are ever driving through, slam on the brake and take a short detour off 77 and STOP at High Plains Barbecue! I had brisket (juicy, perfectly seasoned and hearty portion Mac n' cheese (creamy, well seasoned, perfect! and coleslaw (again, very well seasoned vinegar based slaw with diced bell peppers . Hubby had 1/2 rack ribs (he says they were meaty with a dry rub and excellent sauces , coleslaw and potato salad which I describe as better than my Mom's (please don't tell her! : . We shared a peach cobbler, made inhouse with locally made ice cream. Delicious! There is a theme here, wonderful service, food and atmosphere. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with counter service. Try it! You won't be disappointed!

Super friendly staff and the food was phenomenal! Stopped to get gas and just looked to see what food places were near. Saw they had excellent reviews so decided to try it. Glad we did. My boyfriend is OBSESSED with brisket and he said it was amazing. First bite and he was in heaven. Do yourself a favor and check out this hidden gem! The owner came by and asked what we thought and spoke to us about their rotating menu. Well worth the money!

Super nice host and his lovely wife. We had the brisket dinner that was amazing, it was fork tender and melted in your mouth. Home made sides were delicious too.. Restaurant was clean and inviting.
