あいら Yì - 西ノ島町

I visited Sushi Aira on Nishinoshima Island in the Oki Islands. It is located near the coast of Nishinoshima with a cozy atmosphere, featuring 4-5 counter seats and 7-8 tatami table seats. The chef, who is from Nishinoshima, offers delicious sushi using local ingredients. The presentation of the sushi is beautiful, appetizing, and perfectly balanced between the fish and rice. The name "Aira" comes from the chef's son, showing his love for his family and the island. Overall, the sushi was delicious and I highly recommend this charming little restaurant.

Reservation is important. Eating at the counter is the best option, but they also offer delivery to inns without meals, so please take advantage of it.

店の名前は息子の名前。超子煩悩大将が営む地域に愛された鮨屋。価格は決して裏切らない。 普通のネタもさることながら、一般的な太巻きとは味も見た目も異なる「あいら巻き」は食べて頂きたい。回数を重ねるほどに癖になる味だ。 前日までの予約がないと入れない。
