The ryokan and our room were charming. The staff was extremely friendly, though they spoke limited English. The Onsen baths were quite hot at 45 degrees Celsius, but there is a smaller private bath where you can adjust the temperature by adding cold water.
My husband and I stayed at this inn for 4 nights in December 2016. The facility has 3 beautiful hot spring baths: a stunning outdoor rock pool that was amazing to use while it was snowing, an indoor covered one with a traditional high wooden ceiling, and a small private wooden bath with a large door leading outside. The staff were incredibly kind and carefully prepared vegan meals for us, including 2 onigiri rice balls per person each day for an additional 500 yen. They asked about our dietary preferences as soon as we arrived and were very accommodating. The food was not overly fancy, but still delicious and we were quite satisfied, especially considering the very reasonable cost of around 11,000 yen per person per night, including dinner and breakfast. Our room was simple but comfortable, with a nice view of the outdoor courtyard. We enjoyed exploring the charming town and surrounding area during the day. Just a 5-minute walk away, there is a unique cafe called Chamise Cafe and Space where we were able to find vegan soup and drinks in the afternoon. This is definitely a great spot for a traditional and relaxing getaway!
We stayed at the ryokan for 2 nights with breakfast and dinner included. The staff prepared lovely vegan meals for us based on a nutritional requirement form we filled out during check-in (dinner costs 3500 yen per person). The ryokan and our room were both beautiful. The staff were incredibly friendly, but had limited English proficiency. The onsen baths were very hot at 45 degrees Celsius, but they also had a smaller private bath where we could adjust the temperature by adding cold water.
My man and I spent 4 nights here at the end of December 2016. they have 3 nice hot spring baths: an outdoor rock pool (that was incredible while snowing) an old, covered with traditional, high wood ceiling, and a small, private, indoor wood with a large door out. the personal was really friendly and carefully prepared us vegan meals, including 2 onigiri reis eier person every day 500 yen per person). they asked us as soon as we arrived to confirm what we could and could not eat, and were very thoughtful about everything. the food was not really chic, but it was still nice and we were satisfied (especially for the extremely cheap cost of ~11.000 yen per person night, including dinner and breakfast we had a simple but pleasant room with view of the courtyard in the open and enjoyed the exploration of the small town and opposite during the day. 5 minutes around the corner there is a funky cafe called chamise cafe and space we were in the location, vegan suppe and drinks on the afternoon as well. this is definitiw a beautiful destination for a traditional relaxation! updated from the previous review on 2017-01-12
