When we found A Taste of Louisiana we were eager to check it out. We had a perfectly wonderful experience there in all aspects. We we were greeted and seated immediately by the warm and friendly owner, who took lots of time explaining the menu offerings, which were numerous. When the food came, we thought we had entered the celestial sphere. This is not an exaggeration! One if us is a vegetarian and was able to have a fine meal. Between the two meals, none of the items was less than stellar. The helpings were very generous. While this restaurant is not fancy, it blows away the competition regarding the quality of the food, terrific service and exceptionally warm, friendly staff. I highly recommend A Taste of Louisiana to anyone who appreciates excellent Southern cooking in a casual and friendly atmosphere. An enthusiastic A+ all the way!
Runzas are fantastic. They are like a bread surprise. They really hit the spot. I could about ten of them in one seating. Love them.
Not sure how this dump has a 4.3 star rating. Obviously people are being paid to leave reviews. This is literally the worst fast food place in all of Lincoln, Nebraska followed closely by Wendy's on north 27th street. The employees here couldnt give two lumps of fecal matter about their jobs or you as a customer. The service is slower than my grandmothers driving. It is beyond rediculous. The food is prepared in a haphazard manner with not a **** given about it. All i ordered in the drive up was a large red bean and rice, i was literally the ONLY customer at the store and i sat there for 13 minutes in the driveup waiting on a red bean and rice. In the mean time im watching the employees thru the window laugh and giggle and screw and doing nothing.
Everything here was so good. The corn bread was like a dessert, the sweet potatoes incredible, the chicken, catfish, everything so tasty. Even the rice and beans… everything was seasoned so deliciously. The owner was a real nice guy too. Glad we stopped in here for dinner while passing through town.
I had a fantastic experience at A Taste of Louisiana today for lunch. Everything I had was amazing. I had Spicy Oxtail over Rice, with a side of Collard Greens and Cornbread. This will be my new go to restaurant. I look forward to going back soon. Great vibe in the place from the other customers and staff.
