I have been dining for 50 years and that was the worst meal I have ever had. I doubt it was prepared by a professional chef. The air-fried pork chops were shaped like pig ears, with a rancid white coating. The mixed vegetables and potatoes in cream were completely inedible. My wife had what we suspect was candied pumpkin soup with an old, dirty fingernail floating in it. Avoid this place at all costs, it was absolutely terrible.
I was disappointed with the steak I had at Alberton Pub last night. It was fatty, the gravy tasted off, and the serving of vegetables was very small. However, my dining partner's meal was good.
We dined at this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon around noon. The pub had recently been renovated and we were pleasantly surprised by the changes. The food was delicious and there were many options to choose from, all at very affordable prices. I had the garrisons which were absolutely wonderful! Although the exterior of the pub could use some maintenance, we still enjoyed the old-fashioned country feel. I highly recommend this place, especially if you live in Port Albert as it is only about 6 km away.
Victoria Hotel Alberton Victoria in Gippsland what a treasure this pub is... Meals are next level thanks to Team Benny.. the best seafood we have had in a pub.. fresh as fish tasted like just off the boat! Mixed grill was phenomenal.. steak (tender ...crumbed snag, Lamb cutlet, ribs and bacon. Owners Brendan and Michelle are top people. One of our fave country pubs. Keep up the great work Team Victoria Hotel you have something special here, we had to come back a second time! BTW the mural on the pub is part of Heesco Town 24 murals around Yarram.
