Strand Hotel - Yeppoon

Lovely food. Large meals (too big very friendly staff Beach front. Quite a varied menu with reasonable prices.

Unfortunately the view was the only thing going for this place. Limited menu for dinner, printed on a scrappy piece of paper. Offering pizza, chips and about 5 basic choices. The waitress said “we are running out of chefs”. We had a drink and left. We weren’t the only people that left without ordering. The website still advertises a full menu and still has a specials board online. Will not return.

We are staying at Yeppoon for a holiday and had dinner at The Strand Hotel. Staff quite friendly however our meals were very very poor. My steak wasn't cooked to my request, vegetables were raw and the mashed potato was disgusting. Whatever it was it certainly wasn't mashed potato. Spoke to the manager and he took on board the issues and gave us our money back. In saying that the owners need to visit their hotel and see the problems for themselves. Before leaving I went to the restrooms and the smell of urine was enough to make me sick. The toilets are disgusting and need to be thoroughly cleaned. We are navigating out of Covid therefore cleanliness is paramount this needs to be addressed urgently. Will not be back. Julie

Certainly did not live up to expectations or their advertising. Would not recommend for a pub lunch in Yeppoon. Six people dining, two meals came out within 10 minutes then the other 4 meals were non- existent until after 30 mins waiting they got the rest, cold fries, luke warm food, maybe these were sitting under the lights for wait staff to deliver and were forgotten??? Not good enough especially as when paying high surely they could do better. Also only approximately 15 in the bistro at our time ordering . Nice surroundings , pleasant view but won’t be dining again.
