Had the meal deal offer that is available Monday to Friday and was very impressed. The food was great and staff were amazing. Great location by the river and a quiet retreat on a lunchtime in York.

The security staff was aggressive and disrespectful, particularly towards my friend who was denied entry because he didn't have a student ID. They forcibly removed him from the line and pushed him onto the road without considering his safety.

Wouldn't go crazy about it. Ordered some drinks, there was a few things they didn't have so my friend had to have something else and it was rather pricey for the size of the glass. The toilets were also not very clean. I wouldn't want to visit at the weekend, if this is what it was like midweek, with a steady flow of customers. The main thing, was the cleanliness, had this have been better overall, we probably wouldn't have been so fussed about not being able to get the cocktail we wanted. But it all adds up.

We redeemed a voucher for afternoon tea and had a seamless experience from making a reservation over the phone and via email to the attentive staff on the day. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. We highly recommend this place and will definitely be back.
