Rustique Bistro - York

This really can be a good night out.Excellent value course menu of a pretty good standard.A night out here works out better value than buying from M S and food is much better

We go to Rustique fairly regularly and have always enjoyed our visits. We usually have the set menu which is for courses which we feel is amazing value. The food is freshly prepared and good quality. The portions are not huge but certainly adequate and I much prefer quality over quantity. I am not sure why the first review was so poor, however looking at the other places they have reviewed and rated at stars such as Pizza Hut and Frankie and Benny's would indicate what type of food they prefer. Don't let that review deter you from trying Rustique though if you do prefer mass produced restaurant chain food don't expect this from Rustique. The Restaurant has its own individual style with a more intimate and personal feel with a French cafe/bistro atmosphere.

We did not like this place at all. We went there for our anniversary hoping for a lovely romantic meal and we were bitterly disappointed. We almost got divorced because of it. only kidding. Seriously though, we did not like the service in this place. They were pretty quiet, but we had to wait so long for our food to come, and when it did, it was quiet disappointing. It tasted a little bland, and there was definitely not enough of it! We actually got a take away later in the night from a chip shop! that should tell you everything. I would not recommend this place and would encourage people to avoid it.

We've been here for 5 or 6 years. I live 60 miles / 100k away and my wife and I actually create a reason to go to york so that we can visit.

We were looking for a place that offered a little more than pub grub. rustique offered a classic French menu. my wife ordered that, and I had that.
