The Range Cafe - York

While looking for a cleared table, most of the tables still had used plates and cups on them but there was only 2 staff on but not that busy, one lady was serving and the other one was clearing the tables, she then used the same sweeping brush on the table that she had been using on the floor, she never sprayed or wiped the table! After serving they both sat down at a table talking I’m assuming having a break, while there were still dirty uncleared tables.

Been a while since my last visit. Called in for a midday snack with my wife and her sister. The menu may not be the biggest in this world but the selection is good enough and the pricing is quite reasonable. The cheeseburgers were tasty with a good size burger lettuce, tomato and just enough cheese. They also come with a nice sized side salad. I know that in the past the reviews were not too good, but I certainly don't have any complaints.

Visited the cafe as friends birthday so thought I'd treat her .on learning that the chicken was HALAL with no notice to unsuspecting diners I passed in the chicken baguette and had a media Oka toastie..staff were friendly but was put off by eating halal slaughtered food .. the toilets stank and looked as if they hadn't been cleaned for weeks !!! Ucan always tell if a place is clean my the toilets so dread to think !!! Cant get to speak to any1 so hence a poor review .

Called in yesterday for a look round and went for a coffee. Staff friendly and decent Costas coffee. Asked where the toilets were and was told to avoid at all possible as they were disgusting explaining they had no cleaners! Well I was desperate so thought I’d chance it. Never seen such Disgraceful public toilet in my life, the floor looked like it hadn’t seen a mop for months, there was a full toilet roll down one of the toilets and the other one was covered in s . I cannot believe they keep this open for the public. In our current times you would expect cleaniless to be paramount!!! Shame on The Range, you really need to sort this!!!!

Terrible food and way over priced for what it was . Two kids meal deals plain dry half cheese sandwich , an apple one of which looked like it had been kicked down the street , two oreo biscuits and a fruit shoot . A tuna panini sandwich which looked like it had been warmed between one of the staffs bum cheeks , a sausage bloomer which looked like she had been stamping on it while warming the panini , two dried up chocolate brownies that might aswell have come out of a dog and two tepid coffees all for over £23 !!! The staff were miserable, never even asked if we would like any sauce to try and make the food edible . Honestly wish we had sat outside and picked through the bins.
