Small portions mean they’re not really worth the money service was slow, although they did say they were experiencing some issues with their sink! I asked for a bottle of water and they charged me full wack but it was warm. I already drank from it when I realised so couldn’t return it. Another customer mentioned it was cold. Staff couldn’t wait to get out of there as we saw some of their shifts finish, they let out a sigh of relief (loudly) as they left, saying “thank f%#k”! Asked for one meal with no cranberry but they put it on anyway! Dirty tables, flimsy chairs unkept floor
@theyorkroastco offers roast dinner in a GIANT Yorkshire pudding. You can choose between Beef, Pork, Ham and Turkey . YORKYPUD warp comes with vegetable and gravy Overall experience We enjoyed the warp very much, they toasted the wrap, it was full of flavour and the meat was so juicy!! You can either eat in or take away... Recommend to the ones who love Roast Dinner and Yorkshire Pudding
We visited The York Roast Co recently and had a fantastic lunch. We ordered two of the wrap meals (one pork, one turkey), and they couldn't have been nicer. The staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommend them, and we will be returning in the future.
Are you hungry? Do you like the idea of Sunday roast inside a huge Yorkshire pudding or inside a wrap made of a Yorkshire pudding? Then you should stop here and you'll leave with a full stomach and a smile on your face! I was hungry after wondering around the Minster and went for the Yorkshire Pudding meal, you get a selection of meats and if you're veggie they have you covered with a vegetarian option. Plus the gravy is also veggie! The food was delicious, the meat succulent and the veg all cooked wonderfully, the roast potatoes are sublime. The staff were helpful with making choices for what to eat, friendly and chatty. The one we visited had a little dining area upstairs, which was okay to sit in for the duration of the meal. If you're looking for good food on the go or dine in, this is the place to be in York.
Quirky concept and they generally pull it off really well. We went back twice during our short stay, so that says a lot! My only issue was that both times there wasn't enough meat in the wrap or it wasn't distributed right. My first two bits were just the pudding and veg and then everything was packed in the middle. Equal distribution, especially of a sharp sauce like horseradish is key. One other small gripe was that the staff wear gloves which is great, but less great when they're cross contaminating everything I.e. touching money, then various foods, then the sandwich press, then money again, etc. Might have just been one off, but hygiene wise I'd watch out for that. Staff were really friendly though and we look forward to coming back in the future!
