Caffe Gran Sasso - York

Terrific cafe in a beautiful space in historic Unionville. Coffee is excellent and food is great as well. Perfect place to get away from it all and relax. Highly recommend it.

We came here because of the reviews and we weren't disappointed. Great latte. Brewed coffee more on the bold side but also very good.Very nice staff, friendly and helpful. We didn't try the food or gelato but they are presented well. Enough seating inside and out. Nice patio area outside that is covered. Nice alternative to Starbucks.

The line at the firehall confectionary was too long, so we decided to stroll and see our other options.We got an espresso, and two gelatos (Lemon and Pistachio)Espresso was average. Short espresso was very short, came with a little amaretto cookie bite.Geloto was okay. Having tasted many delicious gelatos in Italy, we found the lemon had a strange aftertaste -- very artificial. It was also quite soft.Pistachio had a good amount of nuts in it, but the flavour was not that strong.A quaint place, good indoor and outdoor seating, and charming staff, but the food itself was just average.
