Feedback gevenI recommend this Restaurant. My husband, myself and my family have been going to this restaurant for at least 10 years plus. Never had a complain, the food is always fresh and delicious. The service is great. I believe we have tried most dishes on the menu. Dinner is fastastic, not to mention dim sum yummy yummy. Excellent place to take a large group.
Located outside of Pacific Mall on north end of parking lot. Lots of seating but lacking in ambiance. Dim Sum menu selections are many. We ordered Beef Short Ribs w/Black Pepper, Deep Fried Shrimp Dumpling, Steamed Rice w/Chicken & Mushroom, Deep Fried Spring Rolls, Steamed Mixed Vegetables & Dumpling, Deep Fried Shrimp Rolls. All dishes were very tasty. Even the Tofu from their regular menu. Service was slow and servers indifferent but food tasted very good. Extremely crowded all day long.
Really good dim sum and there is always a lineup! They are quick to get you a seat, Worthwhile even if you have to wait! You have to get a number from the hostess at the front. And she will call out your number when there is a table available! A must try! Been there several times over the years and they are continuously consistent!
A nice change from my usual haunt at Perfect Chinese Restaurant at Brimley and Sheppard. You'll get all the usual dim sum staples, but you could end up waiting a while for those carts to make it to your table.Still, dim sum is supposed to be a leisurely affair, so if you're starving and want something fast, either order off the ala carte menu, or go someplace else!
We have been going to Ginger&Onion for many years for family dinners but surprisingly this was our first dim sum. We were happy to discover it was cart style dim sum.Quality was good but (given it was a weekday) there was a bit of a wait for the har gow - which would be the only item that we didn't love. Shrimp was smaller than other places and the wrapper didn't quite hit the mark in terms of consistency. The deep fried taro dumpling was very fresh - so hot that it was probably a very short time between the time it left the deep fryer and the time it reached our table. One of the better deep fried taro dumplings I've had in a long time. Our favourite dish was the deep fried sardines. Probably because it is not often found on the dim sum menus in the western part of the GTA which is where we are now based and where we more frequently dim sum.Service was ok. We took the lid off our teapot for a refill, they took it away and it never returned! We had to ask for it! But minor hiccup, and we would definitely return for another dim sum!!
