Golden Duke Chinese Cuisine - York

On January 28, family of 16 dined at Golden Duke. This was our first visit here. The quality of the food is good. The last dish scallop conpoy was actually minced scallop which we not like much. Peking duck a bit small but overall the other 7 dishes were good. Crispy fry chicken is tasty. It's a fine dining place and our waitress was very nice. Meal came up to almost $500 We did not order a set menu, we just picked dishes randomly.We got nice dessert of cookies, jello, red bean sweet soup after which was nice.

A friend has taken me a couple times, living out of the city DimSum is hard to find or should I say good dim sum is hard to find, we always over indulge when we travel here, the dim sum is always tasty, my friend and I are both big eaters so if you put good food in front of us we will endure till we burst. Glad I was taken here and will return many times. It's not the cheapest dim sum restaurant but cheap isn't were you find higher quality food. I have not eaten here for other meals but would think all the food has a great quality. This is my go to Dim Sum restaurant!

My family had a gathering in this restaurant in November. Cantonese cuisine above average, good complimentary dessert. Seating comfortable. Overall service above average. Prices of food reasonable. I did have dim sum with my friends in the morning, pretty good dim sum and they got special prices if you ordered before 11:00 a.m..

Enjoyable banquet food was enjoyed here. 10 courses, most of them quite good. Roast pork, soup, shrimp, lobster, fish, rice, noodles, dessert buns, vegetables. Good service in a bright dining room. Comfortable chairs and tables. Not a place worth going out of the way for.

Hadn't had such an msg rush in years - thought they'd stop using that stuff... Had two tables of banquet menu, but only one overworked server for our party of 20... sometimes the adult table was served, sometimes not (youth table mostly not served - too hungry to wait?). Dishes sat on the table whilst waiting for change of plates, appropriate condiments, and service. Top that off, they verbally told us (twice - in person and by phone) of a cash deal, then did not honour their word when the bill came. We will never go back. Plenty of better quality, service and honest banquet restaurants in the hood.
