Sawa Japanese Cuisine - Youngstown

I must admit, I'm quite surprised by the low ratings. I visited this restaurant for my second birthday dinner celebration during a staycation in Youngstown, and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. Even though we initially missed our reservation, they quickly accommodated us over the phone. From start to finish, the meal was incredibly satisfying and delicious. We tried a variety of sushi and sashimi, along with the swordfish hibachi (for me) and filet with scallops (for my partner). The chef was not only engaging and funny but also highly skilled, showcasing techniques I haven't seen in many hibachi restaurants before. The freshness and flavor of the food were outstanding; you could tell it was prepared with care and precision. The hibachi portions were generous, and we ended up taking most of it home after sampling everything. The restaurant, including the tables and restrooms, was spotless, and all COVID-19 protocols were strictly followed. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would definitely return.

Upon our arrival, we found ourselves questioning whether to stay, as it took the host some time to stop using his phone and greet us. When he finally seated us, his demeanor was less than friendly. However, the server and chef were vastly superior in terms of service, and the food was fantastic. The only downside was that they don't currently offer a lunch menu, despite it being listed on their website, which resulted in a more expensive meal than we had anticipated.

Always a good meal. Do the lunch specials! Awesome mid-day treat.

Very long wait for a take out order that was placed an hour before and they said it would be ready in 15 to 20 minutes. Then the workers were just rude no apology. Whatever happened to customer service?
