Los Portales Taco And Antojitos Mexicanos

I absolutely loved this place! It was so great to find a restaurant that serves street-style tacos. I'm not a taco expert, but I really enjoyed the tacos here. The atmosphere was relaxed and the service was friendly and laid-back, just as you would expect from a place like this. The pulled chicken in the tacos was delicious and not overwhelming. The tacos were perfectly portioned so that they were easy to eat without falling apart, and they were soft enough to roll up. The jalapeño hot sauce added a wonderful kick to the tacos. I even tried a different type of meat and it was just as delicious. I will definitely be coming back here next time I'm in San Telmo. Overall, it was a great taco experience and not too expensive, which seems to be the norm for dining in Argentina.

After reading good reviews about this place, my friend and I decided to have a meal there before enjoying the live music at Plaza Dorrego. We ordered appetizers and tacos as our main dishes. Unfortunately, the appetizers never arrived at our table. The tacos and burrito were okay but nothing exceptional. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

The hotel is located one block from Plaza Dorrego in San Telmo. Despite what the website says, they are not open for lunch. We went for Taco Tuesday at 7:30 pm with only two other tables occupied. The seating for two people was a bit uneven, as it was either in the middle, by the door in the light, or in front of a window with an AC compressor outside that blew hot air through the window. We chose a middle seat. My husband enjoyed a huge pastor (pork) burrito for $26, while I had three carne asada tacos with cilantro and paprika. We also had four margaritas. The total bill came to $26 with tip included. The service was great and the restaurant is Mexican-owned. If you're looking for a flavorful meal, this is the place to go. Nothing fancy, just delicious.

Food was very good! Nice atmosphere and good service. You can only pay with Visa Debit, and that was a challenge for many of us.
