I had a fantastic dining experience with about 50 people outdoors at Uluru. We were also treated to a view of Jupiter and its four moons. Overall, I would rate the food: 5, service: 5, and atmosphere: 5!
The group size was fairly large, but the staff quickly guided us to the sunset viewing deck and provided unlimited drinks and canapés. During dinner, tables were assigned based on group size and position in line, meaning if you met another group you liked, you could sit together! However, those at the end of the line would likely eat last. The meal was buffet style, and while some critics were harsh, we enjoyed the opportunity to sample a bit of everything. Additionally, drinks flowed freely during dinner. That said, management could improve the logistics to ensure a smoother experience and prevent any feelings of disadvantage related to table assignments. The bus ride back at the end of the evening was somewhat confusing and frustrating. The recommendation to limit flash photography was valid, as it detracts from the ambiance of total darkness. Overall, this was an unforgettable experience beneath the stars in Uluru. I encourage you to give it a chance!
A big disappointment, for the price we paid, we expected much better. what is promoted as a silver service eating experience is false advertising. this is an expensive group buffet, the service to the table is only suppening and drinks. the rest is served when you are called table. the personal was wonderful, the didgeridoo player was fantastic. but to use the Wiesenbarigh margarine with the broth rolls? we went in the night before to a BBQ dinner, also with stary night sky tour, overall this was a much better meal and experience and worth a better one. overte price and a buffet. very disappointing.
Good experience dining under the stars on a sand dune. Food (buffet) was average at best, and the kangaroo and lamb cutlets ran out, leaving overcooked dried barramundi or chicken breast. We don't drink much alcohol and often asked for water on the table. Staff friendly, perhaps overworked. Good experience perhaps not the best value for money.
