I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion sizes. I ordered the crunch roll, firecracker roll, and a regular bowl of teriyaki chicken. The firecracker roll was definitely my favorite. The teriyaki bowl was large enough to feed 2 or 3 people, leaving my family completely satisfied. Thank you for the delicious, fresh food!
**Positives:** - We appreciated that this was a quick-service restaurant, allowing us to eat and get back on the road quickly. - The teriyaki chicken bowls were tasty, and the portion size offered great value for the price. One of us tried the chicken and beef option, and the beef was just as flavorful as the chicken. - There was a nice balance of meat to rice, and extra sauce packets were provided, which came in handy as we dug into our bowls. We all enjoyed the flavor of the sauce. - The menu had good options for customizing bowls to meet health or dietary needs for an additional cost. - Overall, we’d definitely recommend giving this place a try! **Negatives:** - The main factor that led to a 3-star rating instead of 5 was that we paid extra for steamed vegetables. While the few pieces of broccoli and carrots were tasty, most of the added veggies were large, soggy pieces of zucchini that nobody wanted to eat, even those of us who generally like zucchini. These ended up being discarded, which felt like a waste. - The state of the bathroom was unfortunate, and we chose to find another restroom before leaving town, which wasted our time when we could have used theirs. - We ordered a side of tempura shrimp, but they were surprisingly small and disappointing, definitely not worth the $2 each we were charged! I would not order those again.
I usually don’t expect much from sushi in the middle of the desert, but this place surprised me with decent fish flavors, earning an extra star for the portion sizes. However, I had to take away two stars due to the inedibility of some other dishes I tried. The gyoza and garlic butter noodles with shrimp were disappointing; the shrimp tasted stale and the noodles lacked flavor. The gyoza were bland and seemed to be cooked in old oil. I recommend sticking to the sushi and avoiding the cooked options. I ended up giving my cooked dishes to a homeless man on the street, and it really brightened his day. Additionally, the sushi rice could benefit from some seasoning, like vinegar, sesame seeds, or salt.
Great atmosphere inside! We had a short wait, but it wasn’t too long, and we were quickly on our way. Thanks!
