On our way home from church we decided to stop at Taqueiros and it was indeed a wonderful choice! We had not been there previously so we didn't know exactly what to expect although the exterior decor is quite impressive. The restaurant is 100% modern (waitresses take orders on wi fi tablets but the building is designed to look like an older ranch house of many years ago. Wonderful effect. Our server spoke no English but was kind and patient and with my limited Spanish we ordered okay and the meal was what we ordered. The do have menus available in English if you ask for one. (Tip: get one in English and one in Spanish so you can read the one then match up with the other and order in Spanish! And oh! the food!! we both had a 10 oz (300 g Vacio (Flank Steak and I will say it is among the top five steaks I've ever had, anywhere, at any time. The salad bar was good and well stocked (though not as large as you'd see in the USA ; the standard extras on any Mexican table were provided tostadas, trays of salsas, onions, limes, etc. My wife had guacamole and cheese quesadilla as sides and I had rice with vegetables and cheese quesadilla. All the food was excellently prepared and service was pretty prompt. I had no difficulty ordering and getting a second lemonade as sometimes has happened here in Mexico. And did I mention the extremely good quality steak? The Sunday before Mother's Day here in Mexico (actually, Mother's Day in the USA the restaurant was geared up with a full staff and obviously expecting crowds of patrons. They rose to the occasion, seating and serving quickly. The food was served within a reasonable time after being ordered. To be fair, we arrived a little on the early side of dinner (about 2 p.m. and by the time we were leaving there were some waiting outside. With all that bustle and crowd it was not overly noisy; we could converse at our table in normal conversational tones. It was our first stop here but I am confident we will be going back!
After the bland food at the hotel, this was a welcome change. I liked how they serve all the sauces including guacamole in a tray with the meal. I'm sure it was more expensive than a street taco stand would have been, but this was walking distance from our hotel and we were very pleased.
Tambien tienen gran variedad vinos. El precio lo vale.
