I saw the sandwich board advertising BBQ night earlier and wandered into the are around 7 PM. They have wi-fi and take credit cards. Great choice. It wasn't crowded, the streets were open, and some seating had been put out front. Super cool. I looked at the menu, an saw the meat pricing 200 MXN Pesos for NY and T Bone and 230 MXN Pesos for Rib Eye. I said g-g-giddy up. I selected a seat and the staff went right to work. I wanted some ice tea and they made a new batch special, delivering it in a 5 gallon container I think. I ordered the NY well done, asked by the staff my selection of sauce and I chose the garlic cream. First comes the bread with the oil. A nice touch. I look around and it's clean, the staff friendly, offer me the wi-fi password, and I see the grill outside smoking around the sandwich board sign. Mario was the chef and put a nice glaze/grill on meat. Tender and that grilled taste you just appreciate. Super good. The staff was great, service super, and the drink and meal $230 MXN Peso. Looks like they have something new every day.
We've eaten here twice, since the new owners took over. The first time, they did inform us about the change, but we stayed, and had the Pasta with Shrimp, and the Supreme Shrimp. The pasta with Shrimp was excellent, with 6 Jumbo Shrimp on top over a bed of pasta with an Alfredo style sauce. You can ask for whatever combo of pasta they have, so you do have a choice. The Shrimp Supreme, was also very tasty. Both times we've visited, I would have to say, the Shrimp were cooked perfectly, not overdone, and very large, compared to lots of places. Service is very good, and willing to accommodate reasonable requests. Another nice touch, was the bread, with Olive oil, and Balsamic vinegar as complimentary starter. Streetside dining, well worth stopping for! Oh, and the Banjos were very clean, another bonus.
Good food, good people, good location. Various styles of food, but Thai is a favourite. Israel looks after his guests.
Family of four with two kids loved the mix and match of proteins on the grill simply prepared and choice of sauces from sweet to spicy. Chef was at Intrawest/Embarc previously and knows his stuff. Very friendly and welcoming. Delicious salads.
