La Hija del Capitan - ZIHUATANEJO

We ordered Thanksgiving dinner from La Hija del Capitan. We received turkey with all of the fixings. All I can say is it was absolutely amazing. To have an American dinner made with such perfection in Mexico? We also ate there a couple of times in our two week stay. We love this restaurant and bar. We highly recommend it! Tanya you are amazing! Cannot wait to return.

Came here to find the store next door as we didn’t know it’s name to get a shawshank redemption shirt. Found it! Heard The captains daughter was good so tried it. It is in the middle of a busy shop street not far from the beach(maybe 3 blocks) although most of downtown is not far and tons of little shops. There is a small bar that was overflowing with people due to sports game on tv. The captains daughter is up a steep set of stairs within the bar so was a bit hidden and hard to find this place, Service personable and burger and fries like at home. Yummmy. Salad was also great. Most places in la ropa and zihua have great salads. Hard to find good veggi smin the stores so this is a great option when eating out. Never got sick 9nce. Can look out over the street below. As you walk you see the second floor stores and places and it was fun to be looking down into the narrow streets. Wld go again and checkout the T-shirt place fo shawshank redemption. Could not find them anywhere else.

This is the place to go if you just want to have an easy dinner with familiar food choices--f you have had your fill of tacos, just want to have some simple fare or some excellent French fries. The food is generally mediocre but the service is good and it's comfortable. One level above the street so away from the hustle and bustle of downtown that can get to you. Good service.

I had the chipotle burger and it was the best burger I've had in the last few months. Juicy, hot, fresh bun, what more can you ask for? My partner had the lasagne which came piping hot and a salad with a great balsamic dressing. The service was outstanding. We will return before we leave.
