Restaurante Casa Arcadia - ZIHUATANEJO

Beautiful spot right on the beach, great service friendly people. The whole snapper was excellent and the wine very good too. The best difference with this restaurant to the neighbouring ones on the beach is that this place has lovely lanterns that light up the sitting table area at nighttime, which makes for a really beautiful setting to eat supper looking out to the ocean. The other restaurants along the beach do not have any lighting outside and look dark. Arcadia for the win!

We had a group of 6 for dinner, and everyone enjoyed their meals. We had the Shrimp Supreme, which is Large shrimp wrapped in bacon stuffed with cheese. The Coconut Shrimp, which were excellent, and the Chicken Cordon Blue. Ate under the stars with our feet in the sand, just feet from the beach. It did take some time to get our order, but it was worth the wait. Beautiful views of the bay, and cold beers! Wouldn’t hesitate to eat there again, and again.

We stopped for a drink early one afternoon. Our waiter served us our drink and then never returned to the table. In fact, we had to get up to leave before he came running over with the bill (we had left money on the table). Not sure if the service might have been better if we had ordered food, but I'm not sure we are willing to give it a try!

We were in Zihuatanejo to get tickets for Sailfest and sat down for lunch while we looked over the schedule of events. It took 20 minutes to get the server’s attention and then he screwed up the order for 3 beers. They were, on the positive side, nice and cold. A simple order of soup, salad and fajitas took more than 40 minutes to arrive. Unfortunately the soup had been served when the order went to the kitchen and arrived at our table as a cold congealed mass. The orders of fajitas arrived 5 minutes apart and were adequate, no better, no worse.

Stumbled on this beachfront very casual y muy mexicano restaurant on playa principal and ordered the camarones de coco. Delicious. Tried other restaurants closer to my hotel and the shrimp coconut was not worth the time it took to fix them. So here I am, back at Arcadiaesting them again.
