It looked like normal wheat bread, i then asked the server “this is gluten free bread right?” She said yes. After eating a few bites I immediately knew it was wheat bread. We asked her to bring the bread out for us to see because I was scared to eat anymore as it can make me really sick. She asked us if we thought she was lying to us, and then She brought out a gluten free loaf and a normal loaf of whole grain bread. She showed us the gluten free loaf and said that they have that one but they just can’t use it because it’s too small, so we use this one she said (showing the normal wheat whole grain bread). I said “that is not gluten free bread.” And she didn’t have anything to say, she just said “well would you like for us to remake it” then whenever we were ready to leave we also had to get up and get our own box after waiting on her to bring us one and she never did. I am now rushing to Whole Foods to get gluten digestive pills hoping I won’t get too sick.
Let me preface with this was previously my wife and I’s favorite place to go a couple years ago. For a place with 4 employees in the dining area, and my wife and I being the only customers in the restaurant, you’d think the service would be better. After we were sat and ordered drinks it took an extended period of time to place a food order. To the point where I just wanted to leave cash for the empty coffee and move on, however my wife was frustrated and hungry. We had to ask to order food. Several times our drinks ran empty while the staff were dilly dallying around picking at their nails or eating behind the bartop. We felt like an inconvenience. I get that it’s slow and staff need time to eat or break but in my opinion that shouldn’t take precedence over serving and the place had been open less than an hour. While the food was hot and fresh, the service for being the only people was rather poor. It would have been completely understandable if they had massive amounts of takeout orders or a completely full restaurant. Unfortunately after being our favorite place to spend Saturday mornings together a couple years we will not return.
Phenomenal food, very welcoming atmosphere. We will most definetly be back.
The food is usually cold by the time you're done. Portions can be 3 pancakes, or ten. Who knows what the service person decides. I had a breakfast burrito. Tough enough to need a knife. Sawing through the bottom required the knife. And like most restaurants these days, the burrito was stupidly large. No taste seems to be required.Dietary restrictions: Diabetics shouldn't bother here. Not enough vegetarian or low carb meals.
Do NOT eat at that establishment. I ordered food from them online and they had no problem taking my money and emailing me a receipt. When I got there they stated they never received my order and they have no control over online orders. Therefore they are not able to give me a refund and told me I’m just out of luck.I was able to get in touch with the VP Cory and after digging they learned that the error came from their soft ware company. I was refunded and given a $10 gift card. I’ll probably donate the gift card but at least they corrected the issue I guess.
