This former factory with smokestack has a series of buildings with all brick exterior and various retails shops, fitness center and more. Kornsilo has a few sidewalk tables, inside the walls are made with of bricks while...the other section is more smooth cement. The seating and interior is very simple with lots of wooden tables, high ceiling and huge windows allowing in lots of natural lighting, chair seating and small, fresh flowers on all the tables. I ordered the soy milk hot chocolate (5CHF). The drink was very good. The atmosphere was basic, but I enjoyed that the place is sort of out of the heart of the city and it was quiet during my visit. The staff was friendly; there are clean restrooms, free, secured Wi-Fi and newspapers for guests. They had a nice variety of snacks, salad, desserts, breads, pastries, fruits and veggies, a full range of breakfast, beer, wine, cheese and more.
I loved the atmosphere created by the backyard and the stylish architecture and designs, my companion found it too minimalistic. However, we enjoyed the calm, relaxed atmosphere the place gives you in a busy city like Zurich. It is very close to the lake, and...the walk back to the city centre along the lake must be one of the most beautiful digestive strolls I have ever experienced. Service was a bit slow, but very friendly. There is no coat hanger. Taking your jacket to the table is a little inconvenient. The food is what we could both agree on to be simply superb. If you 're a meat lover, don 't go there. The dishes are innovative and beautifully presented, but most of the served meals apart from the breakfast buffet are vegetarian. The atmosphere was easy-going. The urban, stylish flair of the restaurant with the high ceiling and concrete elements is not everyone 's cup of tea, personally I like it a lot. Very carefully selected accents like the lamps bring a bit of design into the room. The customers seemed mostly locals from businesses around the Mühle Tiefenbrunnen. Apart from the slow service, I have nothing to complain about. The toilets were extremely clean and they provide very high end products to wash and hydrate your hands skin. The Prosecco and the coffee were superb, and we recommend buying a local bread. A bakery provides it for the restaurants and to take away for guests. The lady serving us told us, that the restaurant specialises in local delicatessen from selected producers in the region around Zurich. A great culinary experience. !!!!
I like the simple atmosphere, the friendly staff, the fast and uncomplicated service, and the last but definitiw not the delicious and rich food. it is always busy with great people, but at the same time it is a kind of private place in zürich, which is remote from the usual suspects. I don't call it a hidden champion.
Although their website says that it is open up to 2 o'clock every day when I went about 1 o'clock to lunch her kitchen was already closed. next to the staff was very rude and unfriendly!
Although the location is good, at the railway station deep fountain, there is nothing worth going out of it. no great selection of eggs for a brunch. but some nice muffins. large bichermuesli at chf 8.50 was a tear. Super model size portion. okay, if you are right there and want to eat, have fee.
