Akureyri Hot Dog Stand

What a treat to be able to try a famous Icelandic hot dog the vegan version! Great for a quick bite if you don’t need a full meal. Vegan options clearly marked. We tried pickled cucumber and pickled red cabbage dogs both excellent. Also had other toppings such as baked beans. Updated from previous review on 2021 07 06

I think it’s fantastic that such a small store has vegan options but jeez, I’m not sure if it was the sausage or the mustard, but something tasted like tangy off peanut butter I had to eat it all because it cost 700kr (AUD $7), but I genuinely feel so sick now.

Great place to get an affordable meal and try a traditional Icelandic hot dog! Located in a great part of the city as well.

This restaurant is a fantastic option for travelers passing through the town. We had a delicious meal of hotdogs in the sunshine, accompanied by a refreshing can of soda. The staff were friendly and attentive. It was convenient that the vegan options were clearly labeled, and the staff were knowledgeable about which sauces were suitable for vegans.

This is the only affordable vegan choice in the area. The food is tasty but offers nothing more than what you would expect from typical fast food.
