I Heart Mac Cheese - Altamonte Springs

Such a great concept. Staff was friendly and helpful explaining the concept and even gave menu suggestions. To top it off the food was great!

We are excited to see this place open in our neighborhood! The interior is cute! The staff were friendly and working very hard! We came on a Tuesday evening and it was super busy. Not sure if the hood/ventilation works because it was very smokeyinside. We ordered the kids mac n cheese $7ish), the Vegan bowl $13ish), and a Bacon Love Tomato grilled cheese and dippingsauce tomato soup). My 6yo liked the mac n cheese. The vegan bowl was very bland. I added salt and pepper. The vegan cheesesauce is almost flavorless. The BLT was good. The dipping sauce is a tiny condiment size cup for about $2. In total, it wasabout $40 with tip for food that wasn't excellent. Not quite sure if we will be back.

I had the Vegan Bowl With Beyond Protein Delivery which tasted great, but was pretty lacking in terms of portions considering the price.

**Food Quality:** One positive aspect is that all the dishes are served hot since they are made to order. However, the flavor left much to be desired for me. It wasn't anything to rave about and definitely doesn't compare to my grandma's mac and cheese. My main issue is with the cheese sauce used for everything—it tastes more like restaurant-style cheese sauce rather than homemade, which might work for some but doesn't sit well with me. Being a true Southerner with generations of mac and cheese to compare, this just doesn't measure up. I ordered the short-rib Philly mac and cheese bowl, and it was only mediocre, largely due to that same cheese sauce that I find unsatisfactory. My 16-year-old daughter had the "Best of Both Worlds" grilled cheese sandwich, and she really enjoyed hers. My 13-year-old daughter ordered the chicken parmesan bowl and was disappointed as well. As a devoted mac and cheese lover, it didn't meet her high standards. We also tried the signature mac bites as a side, which were quite tasty. **Service:** The ordering process felt more like a cafeteria. On that particular Wednesday, it seemed they had a significant online order, as we waited about 10 minutes to place our order despite there being no one in front of us and the restaurant not being crowded. They might benefit from a more organized ordering system or perhaps add more staff in the back to ensure that someone is always available to take orders swiftly. **Ambiance:** We appreciated the interior of the restaurant. It was clean and had enough tables to accommodate a decent number of guests. They also had some large-screen TVs, but I found their placement a bit puzzling. The TVs are along the wall where most of the dining tables are, so it seems challenging to watch them comfortably.
